Maurine Thelma was the daughter of Franklin Decal Cornell and Eudora Helen Huff, born on 10 Jul 1903 in either Durwood or Ardmore, OK. She attended Ardmore High School and graduated in 1921. She lived her entire life in Ardmore. On 2 Sep 1924, she married Robert Cecil Cavins, the oldest son of Henry Taylor Cavins (1876-1948) and Harriet Isabell Smith (1884-1951) in the Ardmore home of her brother, Lewis Decal Cornell and his first wife Lucille Meadows. Robert was born in Carter County in the township of Orr, which no longer exists but was just south of Wilson in Love County. The oldest of nine children, he lived in Burneyville, Love County before moving to Ardmore. He was well known in Ardmore, as he was the Area Rent Director, and the City Manager for Ardmore in the 1950s.

Maurine was also a prominent member of the community and she served in many civic organizations and activities. Robert and Maurine had two sons, Robert Franklin in 1929 and Jack Taylor in 1933.

Maurine died on 10 Sep 1957 from a heart attack in her home. She was 54.
