Ralph L. Marvin, beloved father, friend and neighbor, passed away May 31, 2016.

Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island, where visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the family.

Ralph was born Kenneth Vishnauski on May 22, 1940, in Peoria. He was adopted by Francis Claire and Mildred Marvin, of Moline, who named him Ralph Marvin. Ralph graduated from Alleman High School and was employed by Montgomery Elevator for 32 years and retired from Pinnacle Stanrick Corp.

On Sept. 23, 1972, Ralph married Emily Fasick in Moline.

Ralph enjoyed fishing, golfing and was a master craftsman making beautiful clocks and cabinets. He loved spending time with his grandson, Jacob, with whom he was very close. In retirement Ralph enjoyed helping people locate their ancestors' graves through Find a Grave, spending a lot of time at the Rock Island Arsenal and Riverside Cemetery taking pictures and uploading the information. He also enjoyed riding his bike, sometimes up to 20 miles a day.

Ralph was a great man to all who knew him and will be deeply missed.

Ralph was preceded in death by his wife, Emily. He is survived by his son, Matt (Rhiannon); grandson, Jacob; stepson, Bob Fasick (Sally) and their three children, Patrick, Elizabeth and Aaron.
