ELOISE B. FRANK, 83, of Columbia City, died at 7:50 p.m., Thursday, October 19, 2006 at The Oaks Living Center where she had been a resident since June 16th.

She was born December 4, 1922 in Muncie, Indiana a daughter of Gilbert Allen and Rachel (Quick) Blackwood. Her formative years were spent in Muncie. She graduated from Burris High School and from Ball State Teachers' College with a Bachelor of Arts degree.

She was employed at Warner Gear Company in Muncie, Eaton High School and later Columbia City High School after moving to Columbia City in 1948. She taught fifth grade at Marshall Memorial School, worked at REMC, Farmer's Grain and Feed and later assisted with the operations of H.R. Frank & Sons greenhouse.

Her memberships include Columbia City Church of the Brethren and its evening fellowship, and Indiana Retired Teachers Association.

Surviving relatives include her husband, Glenn Paul Frank, whom she married on June 24, 1951; four children, Mary "Marisa" Frank of Fort Wayne, David (Jennifer) Frank, Martha (James) Kreider and Samuel (Ann) Frank, all of Columbia City; and nine grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Gilbert Parker Blackwood and Darwin David Blackwood.
