Florence Elizabeth Emmons, 84, formerly of Mills Road, died Saturday at Riverridge Health Care Facility in Kennebunk after a long illness.
She was born in Lebanon, Maine, a daughter of Howard Horatio and Hannah Frye Seavey Perkins. She was a 1933 graduate of Kennebunkport High School and was salutatorian of her class.
Mrs. Emmons owned and operated Herbert's Take Out Store and Bakery with her husband in Cape Porpoise during the summers from 1938-1978.
She was a member of the Church on the Cape, the Fifty Plus Club of Kennebunk, the Pythian Sisters of Kennebunk and the Farm Bureau.
Her husband, Herbert W. Emmons, died in 1978.
