ALBANY Douglas W. Britton, age 55 years, of Greenwich Drive passed away Sunday, October 22, 2006 at Community Hospice at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany. He was born in Albany and was a resident of Guilderland for most of his life. Mr. Britton was employed as a driver for NAPA Auto Parts in Latham. He enjoyed fishing, collectables, traveling and working. Son of the late Robert J. and Loretta Clark Britton; brother of Stephen J. Britton of Berwick, Pa. and Madeline B. Bell of Schenectady; uncle of Melinda Griffith and Morgan L. Bell; loving companion of Melody Spateholts of Albany. Funeral will be from the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Ave., Rensselaer Wednesday morning at 9:00 and 10:00 at Christ The King Church in Westmere, where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be offered. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. Interment will be Memory's Garden, Colonie. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Albany City Mission, Thanksgiving Meal Program, 259 So.
