She was a graduate of Eastern High School class of 1942. In 1943 Esther married James Mills and together they had six children. She was a member of South Lansing Christian Church since 1952 and was also very involved with church activities.
Esther was an avid Detroit Tigers fan; she enjoyed quilting, crocheting, traveling and camping trips with her family and church family. Esther was also a longtime volunteer for the American Red Cross blood drives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and sister, Eloise Fulger.
Surviving are her daughters, Jane (Bill) Calhoun, Debbi (Terry) Rountree, Dianne Strickland, Jackie (Curt) Kinney, Cheryl (Bob) Keen; son, Jim Mills; 21 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Monday, May 23, 2016 at South Lansing Christian Church.
