James Pete Ussery Sr., was born 27 Oct 1898, according to Draft Registration, FAG: # 162827933, in Madison County, AR, he died on 3 Nov 1926. in Okmulgee, Okmulgee Co., Oklahoma.
He first Married Mary Davis, b 1901 TX, in 1918 (Henryetta, OK ?) they had 5 children, twins James David and Margaret Dorothy, 1925-1926, deceased, Kermit, 1919-1932 deceased, Leah Francis, 1919-1998, and I can't remember the other one, off the top of my head.
He second married Stella Mae Brown Hughes (married before to Clarence Grady Hughes) Pete and Stella married 8 Nov 1926, in Gainesville, TX. They had 4 children: Betty Lee Ussery, my mother born who was born 5 Feb 1927, 3 months, after they married, her birth certificate was issued as Betty Lee Ussery, however, Betty's mother got religion and when Betty applied for her Social Security, her Mother didn't want her to know she was already pregnant when she married Pete, as she had always told her she was a Hughes. They also had the following children: Bobbie Lewis Ussery, William David Ussery and James Pete Ussery, Jr., all of whom are deceased.
