Maxine Clara Fisher married Clifford Blaine Ferguson in 1941. They had one daughter, Sandra Elaine Ferguson. They were later divorced.
Maxine owned and operated the Salon de Beaute from 1939-2006, a beauty/nails shop at various locations in Marshalltown. At one time it was above the Pure Food Cafe at 107 W. Main Street, and another time, in the Casino Building, a renovated theater at 207 E. Main Street.
She was united in marriage to John Roger Seaton on July 7, 1957, in Marshalltown; they were married until his passing in 1994. When Maxine was not working, her passions were cooking, caring for her flower gardens, mowing the lawn, and fixing hair. She was still caring for her flower garden in her 70s. She was an active and faithful member of Redeemer Lutheran Church at 1600 S. Center St. in Marshalltown. She was still living in her ranch house at 316 N. 16th Street, Marshalltown, in the summer of 2014.
Maxine Clara Seaton, 98, passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2014, at the Southridge Nursing and Rehab Center in Marshalltown.
Graveside services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 14, 2014, at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Arrangements were by Mitchell Family Funeral Home, Marshalltown.
Maxine is survived by her grandchildren; Darrin (Angie) Laverty and LaRisa Riley; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Clifford and John; parents Herbert and Christena Fisher; her daughter, Sandra Elaine Schroeder; and two brothers, Earnest George and Arlo Etric Fisher.
