HICKS, HUGH MACY SR., 79, of Westbrook, Maine, a winter resident of Seminole, died Saturday (Dec. 1, 2001) at his home in Seminole. Born in Henderson, N.C., he was a seasonal resident of Seminole for 16 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was a member of American Legion Post 273, Madeira Beach. He was a former meat cutter and was the former owner of Tom's Market on Danforth Street in Portland, Maine. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; three sons, Hugh Macy Hicks Jr., Limington, Maine, Bruce W. Hicks, Saco, Maine, and Paul Gagne, Poland, Maine; four daughters, Betty Lou Meserve, Portland, Yvonne Norberge, Westbrook, Brenda O'Brien, Buxton, Maine, and Diane Wilcox, Limington; four brothers, Melvile, Maine, Ludie, Henderson, L.E., North Carolina, and Pete, Jamestown, N.C.; and 13 grandchildren.
