Born in Southbridge, Mass. son of Lewis and Deborah (Barnes) Ammidown. Andros married Susan E. Brown Feb. 8, 1851. She passed away in 1879 and he never remarried, he lived with his sister, Jane, also a widow in Southbridge for a while, then with his only surviving child, Eugene Lewis Ammidown. Eugene took him to Royalston and then Baldwinville, Mass. where Andros would live to be 84 years old. He died in his sleep. From census records it seems he worked mainly as a farmer and a grocer.
