Betty Jean Sumrell, 81, also known as Betty Jean Munden, passed October 16, 2006, in her home with her loving husband of 28 years Paul, by her side.

A native of Bluefield, West Virginia, and daughter of the late PeeDee and Mrs. Catherine Hester. Betty was a woman's woman, she led a very productive and full life. She was a well known and respected American Kennel Club judge for more than 25 years, and retired as a quality assurance agent after 20 years with NARF.

Left to cherish her loving memory are her husband, Paul, Michael Angotti and Debra Shaw, and her nurse, Grace Shelton, known by the family as "Amazing Grace" and a host of friends.

A graveside tribute will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Woodlawn Mausoleum, 6329 East Virginia Beach Boulevard, Norfolk.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Alzheimer's Association, Hampton Roads Chapter, 6315 North Center Drive, Suite 233, Norfolk, Virginia 23502. Condolences may be offered to the family online at www.woodlawngroup.com.
