Died. Mrs. Ann Goodwin died at her residence on Monday evening, September 12, 1910. Her age was 82 years, 5 months, and 4 days.
Last October she fell and broke her hip, and later diseases incident to old age set in and she has been helpless these many months. One daughter, Mrs. Pierce, of Omaha, and her grandchildren have been with her a part of the time, and the church has done the rest.
She was born in Ohio, April 8, 1828, and first married in 1845, to J. H. Lewis. He went to the Mexican war in 1846 and was killed in battle.
In 1849 she married E. R. Walker, and they moved to Council Bluffs, and there accepting the gospel message, supposed it was right to go to Utah. They found their error and returned to western Iowa and united with the Reorganized Church. Mr. Walker died in 1877.
Some years ago was married to Mr. Nelson Goodwin.
She was the mother of twelve children, five of whom are dead, and seven are living, their homes being in Montana, Utah, Nebraska, and Missouri.
Funeral services were held at the house at 2.30 pm Wednesday, in charge of Elder John Smith. By request of Mrs. Goodwin, Elder H. A. Stebbins preached the sermon. One daughter, Mrs. Pierce, was present.
