Judith A. "Judy" Baker, age 72, of Lafayette, passed away at 2:40 p.m. Friday, April 29, 2016 at her residence.
Born on June 1, 1943 in Lafayette, she was the daughter of the late David Richards and Mary (Bohan) Richards. She was a 1961 graduate of Central Catholic High School.
She married David Baker on April 19, 1980 in Lafayette and he survives. Judy was an accounting clerk for 27 years with Journal and Courier and retired in 2001. She was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church.
She enjoyed cooking. She loved spending time with her family.
Surviving with her husband are her children: Kelly Nance (husb. Denny) and David McMurray (wife: Angela) both of Lafayette, two siblings: Gery Richards (wife: Stephanie) of Colorado Springs, CO and Susan Johnson (husb: Eric) of Wheaton, IL, four grandchildren: Tyler Nance, Morgan Nance, Hannah Nance and Channing McMurray, and one great-granchild: Abel Collins. She was preceded in death by a brother: Jerry Richards.
Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Monday, May 2, 2016 at Hippensteel Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, 612 Wabash Avenue, Lafayette, IN. Rev. Fr. Dominic Young officiating with interment at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery.
