AITKEN, Edith May (nee Ritchie) July 20, 1925 - April 26, 2016

Edith was born in Glasgow, Scotland, and was predeceased by her husband Sinclair Aitken April 28, 1996.

This strong independent soul left daughter Johanna Finlay (Ken), and son Sinclair, grandchildren Andrea Finlay, Jennifer Stevenson (Sean), and Evan Ritchie Aitken, great-grandchildren Oliver, George, Rowan, Feyen, step-great- grandchildren Curtis Robinson and Siobhan Stevenson, relatives in Scotland, England, and South Africa. She will be missed by many; her independent nature greatly influenced her children and grandchildren.

Edith and Sinclair immigrated to Canada in the early 1950s, Edith somewhat reluctantly, but over the years admitted that her heart lived in two countries - she had become a Canadian.

Funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, May 10 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's (Kerrisdale) Anglican Church, 2490 West 37th Ave. (at Larch), Vancouver. Interment Ocean View Burial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Mary's Refugee Fund, or The KidSafe Project Society would be much appreciated.
