Jimmy Allan Higdon, 78, of rural Danville died at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
Born March 8, 1938 in Burlington, he was the son of Louis and Verna Marie (Huffman) Higdon. On June 1, 1958 he married Patricia R. Johnson in Burlington.
Mr. Higdon was a 1956 graduate of Bonaparte High School. He was a farmer, a carpenter and owner of Higdon Construction Co. He retired from construction in 2006.
Mr. Higdon was a member of Church of the Open Bible and the carpenters union local. He enjoyed family time, going on Sunday car rides, country and religious music, western movies and reading western novels.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers in infancy, Aubrey and Marion; four brothers, Junior, Eugene, Earl and Glen Higdon; two sisters, Janet Gulick and Shirley Elmore; and one daughter-in-law, Pam Higdon.
