BALES, Laura Vivian, age 92, passed away April 21, 2016. She is survived by her children: Dennis Floyd (Gwen) Bales, Carole Lynn (T.K. Ross) Smith, Thomas Brian (Sherry) Bales and Sharon M. Bell; grandchildren: Susan Jean, Dennis Floyd Jr., Michael Wayne, Ronald Lynn, Sonya Faye, Deborah Lynn, Laura Lee, Bridget Marie, Thomas Brian, Adam Nicholas, Jennifer Rae, Melissa Lee Ann and Jessica Dawn. Vivian is also survived by 28 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first born son Baby Norman, her husband Floyd Harold in September 1998, her grandson Michael Wayne, sisters: Lois Ann and Merle Joyce and her parents John and Martha Yeager.

Laura mostly known as Vivian held position as Rosie the Riveter during WWII working on B29’s. She also worked at General Motors Fisher Body Plant for 15 years as well as the South Lyon McDonalds. She was married twice to Floyd and raised four children. Vivian loved all of her family equally. She was a member of Family Life Community Church since 1970 where she was involved with the singing group and also dedicated her time to the South Lyon Senior Center. She loved to play bingo and pinochle. She was very alert and worked crossword puzzles, read her bible and prayed for her family daily. She will be dearly missed but she is with God now.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 24, from 2:00-8:00pm at Phillips Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Monday, April 25, 10:00am at Family Life Community Church.
