Effie E. Houldsworth, 79, of Moline, died June 28, 2006, at Crossroads Unit at Oak Glen Home, Coal Valley.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, July 3, at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, Rock Island. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday, with a Trisagion service at 6:30 p.m. at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, 6601 38th Ave., Moline. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the church.

Effie was born Sept. 17, 1926, in Moline, to Nicholas and Elaine Lingris Tertipes. She married Stanley Houldsworth July 13, 1946, in Clinton, Iowa. He preceded her in death on July 20, 2001.

Effie was an executive secretary for Quad City Development Group for 30 years. She retired in 1990.

Effie was a lifelong member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church, Rock Island.

Survivors (and spouses) include daughter, Connie (Russ) Zeroth, Moline; son, Thomas (Chris) Houldsworth, Brevard, N.C.; grandchildren, Jocasta Houldsworth, Wilmington, N.C., Angela Stuermer, Castleberry, Fla., Erik Zeroth, Moline; sister, Olga Jordan, Coal Valley; brother, Louis Tertipes, Milan; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband and seven brothers and sisters.
