Visitation for Morten E. Jensen Sr. of Everson will be 1 to 9 pm Wednesday and 9 am to noon Thursday at Gillies Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be at 2 pm Thursday in Ten Mile Cemetery with the Rev. James Williams officiating. Mr. Jensen of 5977 Mission Road died Sunday, July 31, 1994, at Christian Rest Home in Lynden. He was 83.
Born June 1, 1911, to Peter and Magda Christiansen Jensen in Denmark, he moved to Whatcom County with his family in 1919. He attended Goshen School and served in the US Army during World War II.
He married Julia Peterson on Dec 23, 1946 in Bellingham.
Mr. Jensen was an operator at Georgia-Pacific Corp's Bellingham plant for 31 years, retiring in May 1973. He was a member of the Association of Western Pulp and Paper Workers Union No. 194 in Bellingham.
He was preceded in death by brothers Chris Jensen and Peter Jensen Jr. Survivors include his wife of the family home; son Morten Jensen Jr. of Everson; sister Magda Gibson of Seattle; brother Leo S. Jensen of Athens, GA; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Whatcom County.
