Amber Lucynski (29) of Standish, died suddenly Sunday, April 10th, 2016 at Saginaw St. Mary’s Hospital.

Amber was born September 8, 1986 in Bay City, the daughter of Elizabeth and Mike Findlay, Sr. and Brian and Heather Lucynski. She graduated from Arenac Eastern High School in 2004, and shortly thereafter enlisted in the United States Army National Guard and later Reserve, working full time in the private sector while proudly serving her country for eight years. Upon completion of her service, she put her training into practice in the private sector by doing security work, and later, when she became a mother, she supported her children by working hours more suitable to parenting at Globe Sprinkler in Standish.

Always a lover of children, Amber considered herself blessed beyond belief by being the mother to four beautiful, beloved children Cambree, Kylee, Cameron, and Alexander. Amber adapted quickly to her life as a mom, doting on her children and, (more days than most) genuinely reveling in the joys of parenting. She washed, cleaned and cooked enough to survive (no one starved or got attacked by dust bunnies), played nurse, packed school lunches, refereed fights and came to view her weekly grocery shopping trip - the only time she was without at least two or three children around – as the high point of her week. Through it all, she was never too busy to read a bedtime story or to play with her babies. Amber may have worked at Globe, but her passion and true career were her children. She was a fervent believer in the notion that the village provides roots to anchor, but moms provide the wings to soar.

Amber appreciated her vast, extended family, and readily took part in organizing, hosting, or pitching in to help on celebratory events, be they birthdays, anniversaries, or graduations. She’d forgo paying her own bills in order to help someone in need, and a birthday didn’t go by that she wasn’t among the first to acknowledge! Her smile was infectious, and her energy seemingly boundless. Being the center of attention was something Amber relished, though didn’t generally push for, being content to let others shine as well. She formed an incredible network of friends who became her “heart family,” and together they shared the joys and sorrows of life, supporting each other in their parenthood challenges, providing a listening ear or a warm hug of support whenever needed, and most of all celebrating life. Dancing, singing Karaoke, going to the beach, and Water Parks are just a few of the memories they created together.

She was baptized Catholic and received her sacraments at Resurrection of the Lord Church of Standish, and although she was not actively attending church, she lived her faith daily. Her quiet strength and inherent kindness were and are an example to all who knew her. In times of loss she provided her friends and her family with a listening ear and a steadfast heart – and quite often a really tasty taco salad. In times of joy, she offered a ready smile, a quiet laugh and a genuine pleasure in being with friends and family.

Amber was a happy mother who loved her children deeply, her extended family truly, and her friends unconditionally.

In addition to her parents, Amber is survived by grandparents, Marjorie & the late Stanley Jasik; Judy & the late Floyd Lucynski; Dave and Ann Findlay; Elsie & the late Mick Neorr; and Corrine and Doug Gildner. Also mourning her loss are her siblings, Brianna (Glenn) Lyons; Caitlin (Shawn) Lucynski; Siara (Jason) Lucynski; Shawna Butler; Shelby Gage; Jasik Lucynski; and Michael Findlay, Jr.

Additionally, surviving Amber are many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins, and special friends, including Scott Davis and Nick Johnson. Preceding Amber in death, and greeting her in heaven are grandpas Stan, Floyd, and Aunt Cyndi.

Funeral arrangements for Amber are being handled by Lee Ramsay Funeral Home- STANDISH CHAPEL, 127 N. Forest Street, Standish, MI. On Thursday, April 14th, 2016, visitation will take place from 12:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Funeral Services will take place at the Funeral Home at 11 am on Friday, April 15th, 2016, friends may call at the funeral home from 9 am until time of service.

Those wishing to offer a show of sympathy may do so in the way Amber would have cherished, by remembering her four young children; so in lieu of flowers, please consider donations in the name of Elizabeth Jasik Findlay for their futures.
