ANDREW M. ADAMS

Andrew M Adams Sr., 54, a Canastota druggist for over 30 years, died early this morning at his home 223 James St., following a heart attack.
He was born in Pottsdam, Nov 20, 1907, the son of John and Mary Martin Adams. He received his education in the Potsdam school System, graduating from Potsdam High School in 1926. He graduated from Albany College of Pharmacy in 1930, and came to Canastota in June of the same year to manage the T.H. Perrin and Company Drug Store. He purchased the store in 1935 and had operated it ever since. He was a communicant of St. Agatha's Church and a member of it's Holy Name Society. He was a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a charter president of the Canastota Rotary Club and a member of the Lake Shore Country Club, Oneida Lodge 767 B.P.O. Elks, the Liederkranz Club and national and state pharmaceutical associations.
He is survived by his wife, the former Helen Thurlow; one daughter Mary Elizabeth, at home; two sons, Lawrence, a student at Marquette University; one brother, Joseph, at Potsdam; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. at the family residence and at 9:30 a.m. in St. Agatha's Church where a Solemn Requiem Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Edward A. McDowell, pastor. The body will be placed ina vault in St. Agatha's Cemetery for burial in the Spring.
Friends may call at the family residence tonight and tomorrow afternoon and evening at their convenience.
Arrangements are in charge of the E. F. Schepp and Son Funeral Home, 300 S. Peterboro St., Canastota.
