Truck accident claims two lives

Two men were killed in a one-vehicle accident just after midnight on Friday near Burtonview.
As of Friday afternoon, Logan County Coroner Bob Thomas was still working to officially identify the men while Illinois State Police accident reconstruction technicians and the Logan County Sheriff's Department investigated the crash.
Lincoln Rural Firemen and the Logan County Paramedics were called to the 1800 block of 600th Avenue around 12:11 a.m. for a pick-up truck that had caught on fire after an accident, ending in the yard of a country home.
Logan County Paramedics pronounced the two occupants in the vehicle dead on the scene.
The truck was registered to 33-year-old Brad Aper, of Hartsburg.
Deputy Sheriff John Bunner said Friday that details on the accident could not be released that afternoon because the matter was still under investigation.
