James R. "Rick" Stevens, 57 years of age, of the Slate Branch community of Pulaski County, Kentucky, departed this life on Wednesday, April 6th, 2016.

Rick was born in Springdale, Ohio on June 4th, 1958, son of James and Maxine Barker Stevens, of the Slate Branch Community. He was the tournament director for Friday Night Lake Cumberland Fishing Tournaments. Rick loved fishing, hunting and horseback riding. He was a football and archery coach. Rick was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church.

Rick was survived by his parents, James Stevens and Maxine Stevens; two sons, Chris (and Shenoa) Baker of Nancy, Kentucky and Robbie (and Stephanie) Baker of Somerset, Kentucky; two sisters, Debbie Mick of the Slate Branch community of Pulaski County, Kentucky and Pam (and Mike) Harris of the Oak Hill community of Pulaski County, Kentucky; eleven grandchildren, Brody Baker, Bentley Paige Baker, Ava Baker, Brock Woodcock, Jasmine Woodcock, Carter Stevens, Hunter Baker, Kailyn Henderson, Kyndal Henderson, Braxton Boyd, and Haylee Boyd; three uncles, Everett (and Connie) Stevens of Slate Branch Community, Terry (and Jean) Barker of Eubank, Kentucky, and Bob Mayfield of Indianapolis, Indiana; three aunts, Helen Petrey of Lancaster, Kentucky, Sandra Barker of the Slate Branch community, and Regina Barker of Nancy, Kentucky; and a host of other family and friends who mourn his passing.

Rick was preceded in death by one son, James R. "Jamie" Stevens, II, who departed this life on December 6th, 2015.

Visitations were held after 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, April 10th, 2016 at the Southern Oaks Funeral Home in Somerset, Kentucky.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 10th, 2016 in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Gilbert Robinson officiating.

His pallbearers were: Josh Lockard, Brody Baker, Jeff Barker, Luke Boyd, Jerry Barker, Larry Taylor, and Mike Harris.

Burial followed in the Slate Branch Cemetery in Pulaski County, Kentucky.
