Robert B. Nieland was the son of the late Lester C. and Viola W. Nieland. He attended the University Of Iowa, and The University Of Iowa College Of Medicine. He did his Internship at Sacramento Medical Center, University Of California, Davis. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a Flight Surgeon stationed at Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina. He did a residency at the University Of Iowa, Department Of Family Practice, and was in private practice from 1974 to 2008 at the Medical Arts Clinic in Hickory, N.C., until his retirement. Dr. Nieland was our Family Physician from 1978, until his retirement in 2008.
