A telegram received in this city announces the death of Mrs. W. H. Williams, at her home in Madison, Ga., at 3:45 o'clock this morning, after an illness of two months.
Mrs. Williams was the daughter of the lamented Dr. J. J. Mason, of Columbus, and spent the greater part of her life in this city. After her marriage to Mr. Williams, a highly esteemed citizen of Columbus, they removed to Madison. She was 68 years of age and is survived by her husband; one son, Mason Williams, and one daughter, Mrs. Albert Foster, both of Madison; three sisters, Mrs. John C. Cheney, of Evergreen, Ala., Mrs. Irene M. Starke, of Atlanta, and Mrs. W. J. Lippert, of New Orleans, and two brothers, Messrs. W. R. and George H. Mason, of Columbus.
Mrs. Williams was a devoted member of the Baptist Church and was of an unusually cheerful and lovable disposition. She possessed a noble and generous character and was greatly beloved by all who knew her and he death will cause sorrow to many hearts.
The remains will reach Columbus over the central from Macon at 4:15 o'clock tomorrow afternoon. The funeral will take place from the union passenger station upon the arrival of the train. The services will be conducted by Rev. Dr. Solon B. Cousins, pastor of the First Baptist church, and the interment will be in Linwood Cemetery.
