AKIN, Alice Beatrice - 99, Windsor, formerly of Falmouth, passed away peacefully Monday, June 25, 2007, in Windsor Elms Senior Citizens Home. Born in Falmouth, she was a daughter of the late Austin and Alice E. Wile. Alice was a member of St. John Ambulance, a member of Leila Rebekah Lodge 59, and she loved her work as a nurse at the Freemasons Home for 15 years. Alice had a great passion for dogs and also enjoyed a good hot cup of tea. Surviving are her brother, Laurie Cameron, Windsor; nephew, Bruce (Nancy) Cameron, Gaspereau, and their children, Vicki, Shelley (Jeff) and John (Lia); special brother-in-law, Bill Akin; also several other nieces and nephews. Alice was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Charles Akin (1984); sisters, Susie Houghton, Emily Benedict, Agnes Purvis, and Ethel Cameron; brothers, Henry "Evans" Wile and George Wile. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lohnes Funeral Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317), where the family will receive visitors from 10-11 a.m. on Thursday, June 28, followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. in Lohnes Funeral Service Chapel, with Rev. E.E. Hill officiating. Interment will be held in Centre Falmouth Cemetery. Donations in memory of Alice may be made to a charity of one's choice.
