Ruth Clara Jaques Aiello, 84, of Callahan FL, passed away on March 21, 2016. She was born on November 11, 1931 in Jacksonville FL to the late George Jr. and Claris Jaques.
Ruth proudly served her country in the US Air Force, assistant Librarian at the Willingboro Public Library for over 20 years, a member and volunteer of Friends of the Library, Callahan writers group of the Callahan Library and Callahan Garden Club. She was an alumni of Ryder College and Burlington County College. Throughout her life she was an avid writer of poems and short stories. She wrote many poems for family functions. She was an animal lover and they loved her unconditionally. She had a special way with flowers and animals. She was a beloved mother, wife and friend.
She is survived by her son; David Peter Aiello, daughters; Lynn Aiello and Christine Ruth (Ronald) DiPlacido, sister; Joan Vinson, brother; Gary (Sandra) Jaques, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years; Matthew John Aiello, parents; George and Claris Jaques, brother; Tom Jaques, sister; Naomi Scheider Perry and brother-in-law; George Vinson.
Visitation will be held on Thursday March 24, 2016 in the Nassau Funeral Home Chapel from 11:00am-12:00pm, service beginning at 12:00 PM with Sandra Jaques officiating. Interment will follow at the Jacksonville National Cemetery at 2:30 PM. Pallbearers will be David Aiello, Gary Jaques, Anthony Green,Mike Flechall , Ray Williams and Richard Jaques. Honorary pallbearer will be Cleve Powell and Ty Jaques.
In lieu of flowers due to limited space regulations in the cemetery the family asks that donations in her memory be made to the Jacksonville City Rescue Mission, ASPCA or the Humane Society. The family would like to thank Community Hospice for all of their kindness and support. Arrangements are under the direction of Nassau Funeral Home, 541720 US Highway 1, Callahan, Florida 32011.
