Peter, 32, of Clare, Michigan, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2016 at MidMichigan Medical Center-Midland. Peter was the son of Maureen Cole.

Upon graduating from Gladwin Community Schools in 2000, Pete joined the United States Marine Corps. Mr. Mattice honorably and proudly served his country from 2001 until 2007. Pete had resided in Clare since 2012, coming from Midland and previously from Gladwin.

On February 10, 2016, in Gotha Florida, Pete was united in marriage to the love of his life, Ms. Susan Ann Thompson.

Peter was the best dancer in the world, loved music and playing League of Legends with his friends. Pete always enjoyed his late night or early morning Skype time with his family and friends. Pete never missed watching a Walking Dead episode. He was REDCON -1’s greatest fan and supporter. Pete’s greatest pleasures were raising and loving his daughters, spending time with his friends, vacationing in Florida and grooming his beloved beard.

Surviving Peter is his loving wife, Suzie Ann Mattice of Clare, his three daughters: Liberty Marie Mattice of Gladwin, Alissa Rain Mattice also of Clare and Layla Rose Mattice of Clare, his mother, Maureen Mattice of Clare, one brother, Dana Mattice and wife Amber of Beaverton, Michigan, three daughters: Christine Casey and husband William of Wolfe City, Texas, Jennifer Buckley of Wayland, New York and Rita Mattice and husband Steven of Gladwin, grandmothers: Beverly Mattice of Lincoln Park, Michigan and Rita Cole of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, mother in law, Gloria Thompson of Coleman, father in law, Tom Thompson of Gladwin, sister in law, Christina Thompson of Madison Heights, Michigan, plus many loving aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and Pete’s Marine Corps brothers and sisters.

Funeral services for Mr. Mattice were held in his honor on Monday, March 14, 2016 from Brown Corners Church, Clare, with Pastor Jereme Bear officiating. Burial was in Cherry Grove Cemetery, Clare with graveside military honors under the auspices of the United States Marine Corps.
