Keith W. Johnson, 93, of Belvidere, passed away, Tuesday morning, March 8, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. Born March 13, 1922 in Rockford, IL, son of Gunnard and Ethel (Kerrison) Johnson. Keith graduated from Rockford High School, class of 1940 and went on the join the United States Marines, where he served in the South Pacific Theatre during WWII. He married the love of his life, Cynthia Hagaman on June 1, 1946 in Rockford. Keith owned and operated Keith’s Electric Repair Service in Spooner, WI. He attended Evangelical Covenant Church in Belvidere. Keith was an avid fisherman and golfer. He enjoyed playing the guitar, wood working, and even built his own home and playing pinochle. Keith was known for having his metal detector at his side.
Keith is loved and will be missed by his wife, Cynthia; children, Larry (Rita) Johnson of Mundelein, IL, Robert W. Johnson of Davis, IL, Charlene J. Mancuso of Auburn, AL, Brian K. Johnson of Columbia Heights, MN, Constance (Steven) Van Kleeck of Kingston, NY; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brothers, David L. (Margaret) Johnson, Darwin (Mary) Johnson; sister, Beverly (Ken) Larson; numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers; and 3 sisters.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 11, 2016 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave, Belvidere, IL 61008. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m., until the time of service. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Guillian-Barré Association.
