Dennis, third child of six, second born son of four of Rudolph (Rudy) and Rose (Karel) Nagengast.

Brother of Wilma, Rudy Jr., Kenneth, Robert and Mary Ann Nagengast.

Listed on the United States Federal Census of 1940.

Married his First Wife Shirley Lee (Melcher) on April 28, 1962 at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, Lincoln, Nebraska, they resided in Lincoln and Columbus, Nebraska. Separated in 1976 and were divorced in 1977.

He was an Semi-Trucker driver for many years. While living in Columbus, he started his own company-using trucking company name "North American Van Lines"-Columbus Moving and Storage.

Dennis was born in Sidney Nebraska to Rudy and Rose (Karel) Nagengast.

In 1943 he and his siblings moved to St. Thomas Orphanage in Lincoln. At age 16 he moved to Nelson where he graduated from high school. He attended Hastings College before joining the Army during the Korean War.
Following discharge he worked at various locations before moving to Columbus in 1973 when he became the owner and operator of Columbus Moving and Storage.

Dennis married C. Jansa on November 21, 1981 in Las Vegas.

He was a member of the Lion Club since 1973 and a past member of the Knights of Columbus.

Dennis was an avid gardener and enjoyed fishing, especially deep sea fishing.

He is survived by his wife, granddaughter, great grandchildren; sister, and many nieces and nephews.
