Actress. She received recognition as an American silent film actress, appearing in 24 films from 1914 to 1926. This includes two uncredited parts. Her first film was a short in 1914 as an unnamed party guest in "Ethel's Roof Party." In 1915 she was busy with ten films including "Light o' Love," "The Fable of the Through Train," "Home Again," and "At the Stroke of the Angelus." Other films of hers include "Hearts of the World in 1918, "Bare Fists" in 1919, "The Desert Flower" and "As Man Desires" both in 1925 and her last film, "Fighting Marine" in 1926. Among the studios that she was employed was First National Pictures. Although very beautiful, she usually had only a supporting role. Appearing in notorious Pre-Hayes code films, she had scenes wearing sheer clothing, being nearly nude. In 1919 she appeared in the artistic nude role of Rudy in "Bare Fists". Born the next to the youngest child of Junius Leigh Walthall, her father was a captain in the Confederate Army and involved in Alabama politics. She married Luther Osgood Eldridge on June 9, 1926, and the couple had a son, "Jr." and a daughter, George Ann.
