W.C. Hatfield, known as Uncle Bill to friends and neighbors in the Pottsboro Community, married Sarah Cowherd MAR.12,1889. Bill was a son of Ephraim F. & Sarah Goode Hatfield. Bill served as trustee of the District School of Cashion and for the Pottsboro School as well as Public Weigher at Pottsboro. He became a Mason in 1891. From 1908-191 Bill served as Deputy Tax Assessor-Collector. Bill & Sarah moved to Sherman, Texas

They were the parents of Roy, Emil, Winnie, Willie, Ted, Lee & Kathryn.
