Mrs. Vela Mae Wegela, age 93, of Douglasville, GA passed away February 23, 2016. She was born July 6, 1922 in Celina, TN. Mrs. Wegela enjoyed sewing and making quilts. She was a cosmetologist and was self-employed. Vela was also a member at Liberty Baptist Church and liked going to various functions there but she especially loved to spend time with her family.

Preceding her death are her parents, Arthur and Hattie Hale; brothers Marvin, George, Jessie, Louis and Orville Hale as well as sister Alma Comer.

She is survived by the love of her life, her husband Albert Wegela; sons Frederick and Alan Wegela; daughter Deborah Bigelow; sister Clodean Belcher; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild as well as numerous other nieces, nephews and other family members.


The family will receive friends at the funeral home on February 26, 2016 from 11 o’clock am until 12 o’clock pm. A funeral service will follow in the Rosehaven Chapel on Friday at 12 o’clock. Interment will follow in Rose Haven Memorial Garden.
