Robert L. "Bob" DRAPER (1921 - 2016) (Age 94)

Passed away peacefully at Spokane Hospice House, February 9, 2016. He was born in Govan, WA to M.C. and Maude Draper on April 4, 1921. He farmed south of Wilbur until early 1980s. Then moved to Spokane area where he spent the next several years in the log house that he built. Other than family, his passions were farming, Camp Na-Bor-Lee, the Grange, and woodworking. Throughout the years, Bob was involved with the Wilbur Presbyterian Church, 4-H clubs, WA Flying Farmers, and Spokampers. Bob received the WA State Cattleman of the year 1962, and WA Wheat Growers Farmer of the year 1957.

Bob is preceded in death by parents M.C. and Maude; brother, Maurice Eugene (Gene) Draper; and son, James Robert Draper.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Lila (Haden) Draper; son, Wallace (and Carol) Draper; sisters, Linda (and Dave) Savelesky, Susan (and Steve) Randel, Gayle Bunnell, and Patti (and Pat) Bunnell; 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild on the way; and numerous nephews and nieces.

Service will be held on Friday, February 19, 2016 at 2 p.m., in Spokane, at Thornhill Funeral Home on South Pines. Graveside service on Saturday the 20th at 11 a.m. at Wilbur Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Spokane Hospice House c/o Hospice of Spokane, P.O. Box 2215, Spokane, WA 99210-2215.
