Lillie was a graduate of Middlesex Community College, and retired from the State of Connecticut. Lillie was an active and faithful member for many years of the Mt. Hebron Baptist Church. Prior to her illness she was an active and faithful member of New Life Church and during her illness she attended All People Community Church with her daughter. For many years she volunteered for several organizations: MidState Hospital, Meriden Soup Kitchen, Board of City Missions, CT Baptist Auxiliary Board, Advisory Board on Aging and she volunteered as a driver for cancer patients, just to name a few. Lillie was an avid walker and could be seen walking all over the city of Meriden. She was a sports lover, especially the UConn women's basketball team.
She leaves to cherish her memory; daughters, Edna (Luke) Williams and Vanessa Green; brothers, James (Ruth) Marshall, of Michigan, George (Carletta) Marshall, of Maryland; sister, Mamie (George) Martin, of South Carolina; three grandchildren, Wendell Hickson, Evelyn (Brian) Johnson, and Luke Williams; goddaughter, Cynthia McQuiller; Grand-Puppy, Harley; and special friends, Ethel McQuiller, Florence Coston, Sarah Daversa, and Eleanor Zahorodni; and a host of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her former husband, Rev. Archie Green, Sr.; and son, Deacon Archie Green, Jr.

A celebration of her life will take place Wednesday, May 20, at Mt. Hebron Baptist Church, 84 Franklin St. Meriden with viewing from 9 to 11 a.m., service at 11 a.m. Interment will take place in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Meriden. Arrangements are under the direction of Howard K. Hill Funeral Services, 1287 Chapel St. New Haven.
