Minnie Cates

Funeral Service for Minnie Cates, 60, of Cement, will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 28, 1995, in the Laverty Baptist Church with Rev. Alvin Roberts, pastor of the Pentecostal Holiness church of Cement and Rev. Kenyon Bush, pastor, officiating. She will lie in state in Robbins Cement Chapel from 1-6 p.m. Tuesday, June 27.
She was born July 1, 1934, in the Laverty area and died Sunday, June 25, 1995, in Oklahoma City following a lengthy illness.
She was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church of Cement.
She married Roy Cates Jr., in Laverty on July 19, 1950 and he preceded her in death on Aug. 4, 1994.
She was also preceded in death by two grandsons, Clifford Cates and Justin Cornwell.
Survivors include three daughters, Sandra Cornwell of Fletcher, Debra Jackson of Cyril and Pamela Wiggins, of Cement; and one son Mike of Cement,; her parents Lloyd and Ruby Lee Holmes of Cement; two sisters, Gayla Hunter of Cement and Ayvon Johnson of Tuttle; two brothers, Bill Holmes of Choctaw and Phil Holmes of Cement; eight grandchildren; Dedra Williams, Jamie Jackson, Sean Jackson, Danna Golden, Quinn Touchet, Mindy Cates, Roy Lee Cates and Jessica Chaney and two great-grandchildren Cody and Ashley Williams.
Interment will be in the Laverty Cemetery under the direction of Robbins funeral Home, Fletcher.
