Craig moved to Richmond, VA in 1997 and to the beautiful Northern Neck of Virginia in 2005 where he had his own research firm, Kilby Research Services. He worked as an independent researcher and professional genealogist. Craig was a tireless volunteer at the Mary Ball Washington Museum and Library where he met many people researching their roots. Many of those he met became personal friends. He also served on the Research Committee for the Foundation for Historic Christ Church located in Weems, VA.
Craig was a regular contributor to the Magazine of Virginia Genealogy and the Northern Neck of Virginia Historical Society Magazine. Over the past few years he published many books of abstracted records for Lancaster, Middlesex, Northumberland, and Richmond counties, Virginia.
Anyone who knew Craig well knows that his favorite band was Queen. Craig is now partying with Freddie Mercury. Party on, my friend!
