Stacy was the daughter of Dr. James Ebbon & Francis Ann (Patton) Adkisson. Mary Lura was her sister. Her father, a physician, treated diseases pertaining to men.
She married Woodward Woodson Altgelt in San Antonio on July 29, 1921. They had three children: Woodward, Jr., James Ernest, & Frances Ann (named in honor of her mother).

"Mrs. Woodward W. Altgelt was before her marriage Friday evening, July 29, Miss Stacy Adkisson, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. J.E. Adkisson of this city. The marriage took place at the home of Rev. Hugh McLellan with about six friends of the young couple present. Mr. and Mrs. Altgelt are at home with Mrs. Altgelt's parents, 1020 West Woodlawn Avenue."
The following summer she was busy hosting & co-hosting social events with her mother-in-law, Mary, for the upcoming wedding of Mary's son, Augustus, to Nellie Mae Mitchell on November 20, 1924.
Their son, Woodward Woodson, was born August 5, 1922, followed by his brother, James Ernest on October 6, 1924. Four years later, on September 02, 1928, they welcomed their daughter, Frances Ann.

Stacy's father died on December 30, 1930, followed by her mother on November 6, 1932.
All of their children attended the University of Texas. They were obviously proud of their sons who served in the military during WWII. Newspaper articles from the San Antonio Light provides a brief glimpse into their visits & promotions.

Capt Woodward Altgelt Jr. is among the latest arrivals,having reached Fort Worth Tuesday.He was welcomed there by his wife and baby son. Woodward III, his parents, brother and sister, Mr.and Mrs. W.W. Altgelt, Lt. James Altgelt, who returned from foreign service two weeks ago after completing 30 missions, and Miss Frances Ann Altgelt. They left here on Monday night to meet Capt. Altgelt on his arrival there. Capt. Altgelt has been on overseas duty with the 102nd Ozark Division, under General Frank A. Keating, 9th Army, since last September."

Over the years Stacey & Woodward were blessed with grandchildren. Woodward's health began to fail in in 1966, and he died from Congestive Heart Failure on July 21, 1974. Stacy died on December 5, 1981.
