He was a Milligan College graduate of 1897. He then graduated from the Eclectric School of Medicine in 1901 and the Allopathic School of Medicine in 1905. He was president of Indian Territory Medical Association for one year, Vice-President of Oklahoma Medical Association for two years. He was appointed as a member of the Medical Examining Board of Oklahoma by Governor C. N. Haskell in 1908.
