Martin (Marty) Joseph Blaker was born on December 8, 1928 to Benjamin and Fannie Esther Blaker in Philadelphia, PA. When Marty was 6 years old they moved to Washington D.C.

In Marty's high school days he was a Track Star as a Pole Vaulter and Graduated in 1947 from Roosevelt High School in Washington D.C. After high school graduation Martin (Marty) worked at Rothstein Dental Lab until induction into U.S. Army at time of Korean conflict. He was assigned to Dental Detachment unit as a Dental Technician. Upon discharge from the military he enrolled in Montgomery Junior College for two years. While attending college he worked at his parent's gas station by Key Bridge on the Potomac River in Georgetown, Washington, DC. He continued his education pursuit until graduation from Howard University in Washington, DC, receiving his Bachelor of Science degree.

Martin (Marty) and Flo began dating shortly after his return from the Army. Florence (Flo) Cohen and Martin (Marty) Blaker had known each other since Martin (Marty) were 21 and Flo was 16 years of age. They both belonged to the same social circles. They were married on, August 7, 1955.

After marriage and graduation from college Marty took over his parent's gas station which allowed them to retire and move to Miami, Florida. He also had learned from his father to repair automobile radiators along with most automotive functions. By watching and helping his father at the business location Marty also learned Auto body work and painting.

Martin (Marty) and Flo welcomed their first born son on; June 13, 1956 he was named Ronald Alvin Blaker. They welcomed their second son on; January 20, 1961 (JFK Inauguration Day) he was named Alex Mitchel Blaker.

During Martin (Marty's) life he owned and operated several Auto Salvage Businesses. In 1996, Martin (Marty) and Flo Blaker moved from Maryland to Round Rock, Texas to be near their sons. Once settled Martin (Marty) was working for RRISD as a School Bus Driver. Then after leaving RRISD Martin (Marty) began working for Enterprise Rent-a-Car as a Transportation Driver taking the cars back all over the State of Texas to the original Enterprise location from where the cars were housed. Martin (Marty) did this up until December of 2014.

Martin (Marty) has been a member of the Masons for 60 years. He began his Stewardship with the Masons at, Samuel Compers-Benjamin Franklin Lodge #45 in Washington D.C. then upon moving to Texas transferred to Liberty Hill Lodge #432.
In 2005, Martin (Marty) was given the honor of receiving the Golden Trowel Award. In addition, Marty was a member of: The Scottish Rite of Free Masonry.

Martin (Marty) was married to Flo for 60 years this past August. Martin (Marty) loved his Sons, Grandchildren, Renovating Boats, and Cars and loved to Fish. In addition, to Marty's sons he was an avid Animal Lover and loved his dogs, Greta and Lucy and Birds, Buddy and Edith.

Marty leaves behind his wife, Florence (Flo) Blaker, 82 of Round Rock, Texas. Sons, Ronald Blaker, 59 and Daughter in-law, Dr. Cathy Roane-Blaker of Austin, Texas and Alex Blaker, 54 of Round Rock, Texas. Grandchildren: Ian Douglas Ives 24, of Austin, Texas. Elliott Dallas Ives 22, of San Marcos, Texas, And Sabrina Diane Blaker 17, of Round Rock, Texas. Rottweilers: Greta and Lucy, and Cockatoos: Buddy and Edith.
