She had the gift of a beautiful voice, she became the soprano soloist in the Chancel Choir at Central United Methodist Church and later became Director of the children's and youth choirs. She also performed with the Kansas City Municipal Orchestra and the Lyric Opera. She worked as the choral music teacher at Indian Hills Junior High in the Shawnee Mission school district.
