Ricky Charles Slay, age 63, of Marshall, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord Monday, November 3rd, 2014, at Cox Medical Center in Branson, Missouri. Rick was born February 12, 1951 in Russellville, Arkansas to parents Ben Charles and Mary Jo (Martin) Slay.

Rick proudly served nine years in the United States Army. Rick was quick witted and with a twinkle in his eye, he would also enjoy a good debate with his friends and family members! Rick loved the outdoors; he enjoyed fishing and canoeing the Buffalo. Rick also enjoyed reading, was an excellent cook and the family grill master. Rick would make his desserts from scratch and passed on his love for cooking to his daughter Alex and son Sam. Rick was an avid Razorback fan! Rick will be missed by his on-line gamer buddies whom he loved to play ”Modern War Fare” and ” Call of Duty” with friends Master Sgt Larry and Sgt Ed Tusher. Rick will be most remembered by his first love, music and his amazing ability to make a guitar talk!

Rick was preceded in death by his father Ben C. Slay and his son Michael Lee Slay.

Rick is survived by family and friends, and his beloved dog “Waldo”.

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 5th from 6:00 to 8:00 at Roller Coffman Chapel, Marshall. Funeral service will be held Thursday, November 6th at 2:00 also at Roller Coffman Funeral Home, Marshall, Arkansas, with Brother Donnie Horton officiating. Burial will follow in Marshall Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers and Honorary Pallbearers will be: Dave Davidson, Kelly Scott, Jeremy Akins, Alan Clark, Wes Passmore, Boone Reed, Jimmy Chase, Dewayne Newman, Jeff Woods, Richard Sanchez, Harley Thompson and Rusty Storey.
