Verna Mae Miller Abner, widow of William Lee Abner, age 78, of Coconut, Florida died Sunday, December 13, 2015 at the Brookdale Assisted Living Center. A native of Gray Hawk, KY she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Frances Bennett Miller. Mrs. Abner was a member of the Tyner Baptist Church and loved to watch westerns.

Mrs. Abner was also preceded in death by a sister, Leona Ledford.

Mrs. Abner is survived by her daughter, Una Mae (Jeff) Whitling of Margate, Florida, her brother, Keith (Lisa) Miller of Berea, her sisters, Dorothy Messer of Stamping Ground, Sandy (Clarence) Isaacs, Mona (Doug) Brock, and Sylvia (David) Moore all of Berea. 2 grandsons, Jeffrey and Christopher Whitling also survive.

Graveside services will be 2:30 pm Saturday, December 19, at the Liberty Cemetery in Egypt, KY with Bro. Kenny Davis officiating. Visitation will be from 12 noon until 1:30 Saturday at the Davis & Powell Funeral Home.
