Kami Dee Nelson, 28, of Aubrey, passed away at Medical City Hospital in Dallas, Texas on January 4, 2016 of brain and spine cancer. Kami battled cancer since 1998, since 10 years of age. She was famous for her cakes and cupcakes.

She did many charities with kids at Church Camps, fund raisers, horse therapy, children’s cancer fund, Pediatric Brain Cancer ride for kids and relay for life.

She and her mother were owners of Texas Paw-Fessional Grooming in Krugerville, TX.

Kami was a graduate of Aubrey High School in 2006 and was named Aubrey citizen of the year in 2015 for all her hard work and dedication through the years to helping others. Kami’s goal in life was to serve god and help others which she accomplished with how she touched so many lives with her strong will to live. She was a member of Midway Baptist Church.

She is survived by her mother, Lisa Nelson of Aubrey, Father, Travis Nelson, sister Melissa Howard of Sanger, grand-mother Iva Hampton of Aubrey, nephew Tanner Compton of Sanger, niece Trinity Compton of Sanger, Uncles Dewey Nelson, Rodney (Sparky) Nelson, Kelvin Nelson all of Canton, Missouri, uncles and aunts; Dennis and Melba Hampton of Abilene, Texas, Gene and Patty Hampton of Aubrey, Randy Hampton of Sanger and twelve first cousins.

Visitation will be Friday, January 8,2016 from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the Midway Baptist Church, 9540 Hwy 377 S., Pilot Point, Texas. Funeral service will be Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 10:30 A.M. at the Midway Baptist Church with burial to follow at Belew Cemetery.

She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Dee Hampton, uncle Dean Ivan Hampton; grandfather Jack Nelson and grandmother Donna Nelson; uncles Jack Allen Nelson and Brian Nelson
