"A Funeral Mass celebrating the life of Louis M. Champa, Sr., 73, of Palm Coast will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 4600 Belle Terre Parkway, Palm Coast. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the mass in the memorial room of the church. Mr. Champa, a resident of Palm Coast for the past year, coming from Ahwatukee AZ, passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2015 in the Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House. He was born in Yugoslavia on June 25, 1942 a son of the late Louis and Annamaria Volgoni Champa and from the age of six he was raised in Euclid, OH. Mr. Champa was a retired chief engineer in the Merchant Marines with 24 years service and had served 13 years in the US Navy obtaining the rank of LT. He had served several years on a nuclear powered submarine. Mr. Champa was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and the America Martime Officer's Association. He enjoyed golfing, bowling working out, spending time with his family and loved being a bingo caller for the K of C Bingo. Surviving are his loving wife of 52 years, Valma, his daughter, Annamaria Champa of Palm Coast, his son, Louis M. Champa Jr. of Daytona Beach, four sister-in- laws, Zora Griffin and her husband, Paul, Zola Stahl and her husband, Tom, Glenna Theis and Patricia Snyder and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial contributions be made to the Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House, 150 Memorial Medical Parkway, Palm Coast, FL 32164..."
