Denver Abner, age 79, of Eaton, OH, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 1, 2016 at his residence. He was born on January 1, 1937 in Manchester, KY to the late General and Hester (Broughton) Abner. He was a member of the Pentecostal Tabernacle, Richmond, IN. Denver dearly loved his Lord and Savior and enjoyed professing his testimony to anyone he could reach.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sisters Addie Henson and Mattie Chadwell; and brother Taft Abner.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mary Abner of Eaton, OH; daughter Tonya (Jason) Heggs of Eaton, OH; son Stephen Abner of Denver, CO; grandchildren Benjamin, Isabelle, Elijah and Adeline Heggs all of Eaton, OH; sisters Gladys (Lowell) Gray of Springfield, OH, Wanda (Roger) Nicholson of Louisville, KY, Lynn Turner of London, KY, Kay (Tim) Brooke of Tennessee, Maggie (Stan) Richardson of Nashville, TN and Sharon (Dwayne) Deaton of London, KY; brother-in-law T Chadwell of London, KY; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at the Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, OH with Pastor Ronnie Baker officiating. Burial will be at Mound Hill Cemetery, Eaton, OH. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
