CLAREMONT - Anne Virginia Tracy Gill, 88, of Claremont, VA died on December 22, 2015. She was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1927 to the late Anne Rita Tracy and Joseph Ellsworth Tracy. She met her husband of 70 years, Lewis, when he was stationed at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Virginia was a loving wife, mother and grandmother (GeeGee), great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and friend. She volunteered in her community and was a member of the Friends of the Library, Kountry Kickers, Claremont Red Hatters and taught crocheting at the Library Crochet Club. Virginia is survived by her husband, Lewis Gill; daughter, JoAnn Lanning (Robert) of Stevensville, MD; son, Bill Gill (Barbe) of Reisterstown, MD; daughter, Louise Hansch (Larry) of Claremont, VA; as well as grandchildren, James Lanning (Ellen), Tracy Lanning Deemer (Jim), Sarah Lanning Fowler (Denny), Michael Gill, Suzy Gill Vo (Johnny), Lori Hansch Conroy (Mike), Davy Hansch (Jane); ten great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Dorothy Lewis Gill; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Saturday, December 26, 2015 at R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home, Wakefield Chapel from 3:00 to 5:00 pm. A funeral will be held Sunday, December 27, 2015 at 3:00 pm at Claremont United Methodist Church, followed by a burial at Claremont Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Claremont United Methodist Church or Reinhart House, St. Mary's Hospital, Richmond. Condolences may be registered at www.rwbakerfh.com.
