Little Lois Mae, as she was so fondly called by her mother, was the only daughter and the oldest of four children born to Harvey Allen Mayfield and Herbie Augusta Reynolds.

Lois Mae was another victim of the Spanish Flu, which very nearly took her whole family. Her mother was so desperately ill that she was not even able to attend the funeral. Her father had just started to recover, but was able to see his daughter laid to rest in the Granbury Cemetery, Granbury, Texas.

Lois was the sister of Estel Allen, Norman Ray, and Vernon Roy, my husband.
