Our grateful acknowledgement to WindyGenes (Find A Grave member 49179114) for the following:

From census records, in 1900 George French, 35, had a wife, 36, listed only as 'French'. This is consistent with Elisabeth A. Mummey, 16, in the 1880 census. By 1910, Elizabeth/Lina Mummey was again using her maiden name in all subsequence census.'

This marriage record from "Ohio, County Marriages, 1789-2013" supports that the marriage occurred in 1892:

Name G. M. French
Event Type Marriage
Event Date 10 Sep 1892
Event Place Noble, Ohio, United States

Our grateful acknowledgement to M. Carr (Find A Grave member 48020220) for the following:

From "Caldwell's Leader" (13 Jan 1932):

Miss Lena Mummey, aged sixty-seven years, died at noon, Friday at her home on Route 1, following a brief illness from pneumonia. She had been in failing health for several months, but her condition was not considered alarming until a few days before her death. She was the eldest daughter of David and Effie Mummey and the greater part of her life was lived in this community, where she had many friends. Surviving are one brother, William C., and a sister, Clara, both of the home, and a number of other relatives. Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 Sunday afternoon in the local Free Methodist church, of which she had been a member for a number of years, and were in charge of Rev. J.A. Hopkins, of Zanesville, assisted by her pastor, Rev. R.O. Lemon, and Rev. Robinson, of Ava. Following the services, the body was taken to the Baptist cemetery, near Batesville, for internment.
