Rites for Mrs. Hook are held Monday at Grayslake Home
A member of one of the oldest and most prominent families in Lake county, Mrs. Cora A Hook, 86 died last thursday at her Home on Rollin Rd., north of Grayslake, following a long illness.
The daughter of Washington and Jane Converse, she had lived all her life in Lake county. Members fo her family played an improtant part in the civic and political life of the community for three gernerations. A son-in-law, Frank Stanton, outstanding political figure and former member of the County Board of Supervisors, died just tow weeks ago. He was the husband of Mary Hook Stanton.
Mrs. Hook was born April 30 1857 in Fremont Township. On March 28 1876 she was married to Oliver Hook, who preceded her in death in 1937.
Surviving, besides Mrs. Stanton, is a son, John L Hook, Rollins rd; a brother Fred Converse, Fremont Township, four grandchildren and on great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Monday from the late residence and interment was in Ivanhoe Cemetery.
