He was ordained a minister of the Wesleyan Methodist Church in St. Catharines, Ontario in 1876. He married Elizabeth Mary Morgan Platt (Nov. 2, 1853 - July 17, 1943) on Sept. 26, 1877 in Fergus, Ont. She was born near Lachute in Argenteuil County, Quebec. They moved to the US in 1885. Elizabeth returned to Ontario after George's death and died there in Fruitland in the Niagara District. She is buried in her family's plot in Belsyde Cemetery, Fergus, ON. They had five children:
(1) Sarah Louisa Schram (June 28,1878-June 9,1969) was a music teacher. She married June 16, 1905 to Percy Richard Tomlinson, native of Tettenhall, Staffordshire, England. They lived in Hamburg, Erie County, NY. They had no children.

(2) John Graham Schram (June 11, 1880 - May 1, 1967) married Jeannette Emily Coxe on May 30, 1923. They lived in NY, NJ and in Hamilton, ON. They had no children.

(3) Cecelia Florence Schram (July 17, 1882 - Nov. 4, 1971) married on June 12, 1907 to Ralph Henry Crompton (Jan. 8, 1880 - Oct. 14, 1954), native of Kreitzlingen, Switzerland. He died in Oneida, NY and she reportedly died in Mexico. Their children were George Ralph (1908) who married Lavona Ward, and Mary Louise (1909) who married Kenneth Elsden.

(4) William George Schram (Feb. 8, 1884 - July 12, 1977) married on July 6, 1912 to Emeline Van der Veer (Aug. 12, 1885 - Feb. 5, 1940) who died in Douglaston, Long Island, NY. They had three children in NYC but Muriel's twin died near birth. The other two were Muriel Frances Vanderveer (1914-2004) who married Dr. Carl Alanson Whitaker and are buried in Nashotah, WI; and Carol Edith Ashwell (1918-1987)(died in Pittsboro, NC) who married George Clark Thompson.

(5) Thomas Hamilton Schram (AKA Schramm)(Nov. 9, 1885 - after 1920) lived in Westwood, NJ. His wife was Alice Wilma Wight (June 1890 - aft. 1920). No further information is known about them.
